@@lightfootfx Thanks! It’s a blessing to finally use it. Had been using my Strat forever but I gave this tele some TLC, setup and intonation and wow! Plays like butter! Great play and great tone! What made you throw out Dream, Ruby and get tonex?? Ruby + Lion Sounds rlly nice, but I have a strong urge to go with tonex or tonex one because of the headroom and versatility.
The ruby and dream are a great combo don’t get me wrong, but the Tonex feels just as good to me only I can use amps that I prefer. Hi, watched this video several times ans really like your board and sounds very much! I'm planning on building a new board for my U2 tribute, so I'm still learning. Have 2 Tones pedals too, but my 2 Ruby's are also sound awesome. Question, what about buffers. Are you using one? Jason from Vertex said, every rig needs a buffer. So I was looking for their buffer interface. What are your thoughts? Much appreciated! Grtzzz Leon
Currently I like the Tonex a tad more, not by much as both are very good but I give the edge to Tonex. I have a friend though who prefers the Ruby and dream over Tonex so it could just be my preference.
I have the RJM and was wondering how you set up your El Cap? What hardware do I need for midi and do you have it post RJM or in a loop? If in a loop how do you set it up stereo? Lastly you must tap in all your songs? Thanks
On the elcap it requires a 1/4" trs cable on one end and then traditional midi on the other, so you would go midi out from the rjm than convert that midi cable to trs then go into the trs jack of the el cap. To do that conversion I am using a disaster area MIDI Box 4 which might be overkill for you, if instead you just are controlling that one midi device then on reverb you can buy a 1/4" TRS to Midi cable where one end goes into the rjm and the other into the El cap. I have the EL Cap post RJM so its not actually in a loop, after my signal comes out of the rjm its going into my zoia, then to my Elcap and then my reverb. I have the RJM setup so that when I bank to a new song it then changes the preset on my elcap for me always leaving the el cap turned on. When it banks to a new song the new BPM gets pushed to the elcap as well as the saved preset for the song that I setup on the elcap gets loaded. I do not tap in my songs they are all setup in the RJM for each BPM and time signature that I need, then I make indidivual presets for every song onto my elcap and just load them up. I also can tap tempo into the elcap if I wanted to but I dont usually, thats only if we randomly pick a song that I cant load up that day so I have to tap it in. Hope that helps!
@@lightfootfx Thank you for the details and being willing to help! To change the preset or bank timing under the software - do you go to presets tab - under the sub tab Preset Actions? Then go to the CC Toggle or new action - pick the El Cap - CC number 12 - and then the On Value line would be the tempo? I know thats a big question but would that be right or how do you do it? Thanks
Hey man sure! This is from our live service with me playing the tele ruclips.net/user/livexS8uNepAcSw?si=giJnAxiNKLsf781L I need to do a new in ear mix video soon with this new rig.
The Zoia is just so cool and different. Thinkin' about getting one as my modulation also. The infinite tweeking and "designing" seems to be worth the investment.
It’s super rewarding and fun! It has all the modulation effects you would need built into it as modules also which is nice if you need to quickly set it up.
You're making me consider selling my bigsky and timeline. Do everything basically the same with midi plus then get the extra space on the board for other stuff. Thanks heaps. Great tone too ps
hey thanks so much! I had those two pedals as well and got sick of the space they took and I barely used any of the other settings on them. Downgrading the size is the best thing I have ever done you get so much room!
I've been using a UA Del-Verb for delay and some slight plate or hall reverb and then a Walrus Audio Sloër for crazier verb sounds. No MIDI on either but I've been fine with it. Sometimes I didn't have time to sit down and make presets with MIDI or just didn't feel like taking the time to do so.

I took the tonex plunge a while back and never bonded with the Tone factor stuff.Very dark and kind of lifeless. You sound great here! I may have to try their stuff again. What imput trim are you running? How much eq did you throw at them??
hey thanks for watching! I have my input trim set to 0 I went back and fourth between 0 and 8 which is the old setting before the tonex patch. I settled on 0 and then I just turn the gain up to where I prefer it. As far as the EQ I do adjusting until all the eq settings are balanced, if there is to much low end I turn down the bass, etc. I plan to do a video on how I set the Tonex up soon.
Awesome! Im playing with them now and i found that if i went 4.0 on bass& depth and 6.0 on treb & presence. it made a huge difference! the eq on the tonex is no joke. ill have to try that input to zero with higher gain. Im running +8 right now @@lightfootfx

Hey sure, you should just click the link on the web page that says “Click here to email analogman to get on the list” then it opens an email client for you where you just send it to analogspam@aol.com the subject should say “KoT waiting list addition” then you can put a comment if you want and you should get a confirmation response.
Hi mate. Looking at buying one more tonex to be able to try stereo for the first time. Few questions. Is the longline a necessity or can sound guy just take the 2 outputs from the tonexs? Also how does stereo work in a standard 5 piece 2 guitarist rock band? Is it more suited to sole guitarists? Thanks
hello, the longline is not necessary however I recommend using something to convert your output from the Tonex pedals into a balanced signal. This would be something like a Radial stereo DI box or line isolator like the Diso Plus or Walrus audio canvas. It would allow you to run long XLR cables to the sound board rather than long quarter inch cables. This will allow a strong clean signal and less noise. Running normal quarter inch cables out would be fine if its short distance. The other reason you may want a device like the longline is to swap the phase if the stereo pedals are out of phase, but this can also be swapped from the sound board. Running 2 amps in stereo gives you a bigger width of sound if you're using in ears. The audience though won't really notice the effect its more for your enjoyment. The benefit is the sound guy can mix and match your amps and solo them out or blend them however he wants for more sound control. Other than that its perfectly fine running stereo with 2 guitarists. I run stereo a lot with another guitarist who also runs stereo we just make sure we don't sound the same.
It adds a wide stereo image, mainly when playing with in ear monitors which is what I use. The differences between the amps on each side hard panned make stereo effects sound huge! They don’t get combined they panned usually one on the far left and the other on the far right. Then the sound engineer does what he wants with that he may blend them or eq them differently
Great overview. I just picked up a Cloudburst and a MIDI controller. Could you share what your settings are for each of your configured reverbs (short, med, long, super long)?
Hey thanks! Sure thing here are my settings in regards clock position short decay: between 9-10 mix: 10 pre-delay: 11 tone: 10 mod: off medium decay: 11 mix: 11 pre-delay: between 11 - 12 tone: between 10-11 mod: 8 long decay: 2 mix: 1 pre-delay: 12 tone: between 11 - 12 mod: 10 super long decay: between 2 - 3 mix: 2 pre-delay: 10 tone: between 10 - 11 mod: between 9 - 10
hey man, I am running them without stacking. Each one is being ran by itself in isolation just with each one set at higher gain. KOT yellow is my lowest setting, then KOT red is medium, then Kilt is higher gain, then red Kilt is highest gain.
I would take 1 Tonex and then the strymon elcap since it can do delay and reverb technically. Then I would set the Tonex to be really driven and use my guitar volume knob to adjust the amount of drive 😂
Pretty sure you just convinced me of the Elliott 357. I’ve been going back and forth on a guitar upgrade. Stuck on a Novo and the 357. I’ve heard they’re noisy but that tone is perfect. I have the exactly sale king of tone , but I see you have the switch set to idle that means the right side of the pedal is still on the boost , its just different settings from the right /. set the switch down to have it as OD if you wish
I prefer Tonex just because I can pick the AC30 I want to use instead of being stuck with just the one ac30 that the ruby is. I like the EQ settings of the Tonex more as well for fine control.
I would say if you’re fine with one really good reverb and using it for all your sounds then go cloudburst, otherwise go big sky if you need all the other reverb algorithms.

Just used the new setup live! CCSTAR! Praise Jesus!
Using Tele with Lil 59' Humbucker in bridge and Tele 52' at neck. Tone Factor sweet
Hey man thanks I’m glad you’re liking the content. For now I’m just using tape delay for everything, I haven’t found a need to switch it up yet. Also I bet that tele sounds killer!
@@lightfootfx Thanks! It’s a blessing to finally use it. Had been using my Strat forever but I gave this tele some TLC, setup and intonation and wow! Plays like butter! Love the tone going from Fender Tele to Gibson PAF with the Lil59’.
Was gonna ask, do you place your 1/4 notes delay after your Dotted 8th delays? Or does it really not matter?
Great play and great tone! What made you throw out Dream, Ruby and get tonex?? Ruby + Lion Sounds rlly nice, but I have a strong urge to go with tonex or tonex one because of the headroom and versatility.
The ruby and dream are a great combo don’t get me wrong, but the Tonex feels just as good to me only I can use amps that I prefer. I like the old Korg era vox ac30s from the 90s and so now I can run one and any other amp that I want as long as the capture is good. I wasn’t a big fan of the vintage ac30 sound in the ruby even though it’s an identical recreation it’s just a sound that I don’t prefer.
@@lightfootfx Thanks for replying! Yeahh Ruby and Dream are indeed a great combo! But I am going tonex one for experiment haha
Grtzzz Leon
Thanks. I am putting together a new worship pedalboard in the next few months. This is helpful :-)
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Do you prefer the Tonex over the UA pedals? I currently have the UA Ruby but considering the Tonex.
Currently I like the Tonex a tad more, not by much as both are very good but I give the edge to Tonex. I have a friend though who prefers the Ruby and dream over Tonex so it could just be my preference.
@@lightfootfx Appreciate that thanks dude!
Thanks
Fantastic board. Do u have a link where you're playing for church? would love to hear playing live
Hey man sure! This is from our live service with me playing the tele ruclips.net/user/livexS8uNepAcSw?si=giJnAxiNKLsf781L
I need to do a new in ear mix video soon with this new rig.
Sometimes I didn't have time to sit down and make presets with MIDI or just didn't feel like taking the time to do so.
awesome, so your delay and reverb is like front of amp? not loop? Thanks and God bless
Yes correct, I don’t use effects loops, I’m just running the delay and reverb straight into the front of the amp with all the other pedals.
Bro use the King of Tone. Just do it. Give in to the devil just this once ❤ All kidding aside, it's amazing and you deserve to have it on permanently. It's basically a better Klon. Just do it 😀
Yeah I’m really digging it alot!
And it only costs like 6 cups of coffee.
@@lightfootfxcan’t wait to see this coming! because i use the TF stuff as well in my tonex.
I need to crank the input trim / gain all the way up to get a saturated sounds, i don’t what the problem is, i’m using crema grinder as my pickup, and still get a way cleaner sound coming from them 😭
maybe i need ur vid about the eq and gain stuff for 33:48 tonex later
@@josephirvan707 hey thanks for watching! I plan on releasing that video next!
Good stuff, man!
Thanks so much! Love your content as well!
Hello, I'm really enjoying it. Can you share a link to where you bought the product that banks up and down next to the pbc 6x? I really need it. Thank you for always.
I bought mine on reverb from American loopers but it looks like they are sold out right now. Here is one on reverb that another company makes
reverb.com/item/63166059-profile-matching-aux-switch-for-rjm-pbc-6x-by-pdls?
Can you help me get on the list for the King of Tone? I’ve emailed and can’t get a response. I thought I was on the list a couple years ago but can’t get a confirmation.
@@lightfootfx thanks for the reply so basically its a DI box that will convert the 1/4 to XLR to run to main FOH that I would be looking for?
@@DeloreanDave yeah! Get something that does that and you should be fine for gigging with long cable runs to the sound board.
But why do you need two amps at once? Is it purely to have a combined tone from two amps?
It adds a wide stereo image, mainly when playing with in ear monitors which is what I use. The differences between the amps on each side hard panned make stereo effects sound huge! They don’t get combined they panned usually one on the far left and the other on the far right. Then the sound engineer does what he wants with that he may blend them or eq them differently
Great overview. I just picked up a Cloudburst and a MIDI controller. Could you share what your settings are for each of your configured reverbs (short, med, long, super long)?

5:30 please be aware that none of these CCM worship bands or these pedalboards would exist without the Edge from U2. He is such a sonic pioneer!
This is so true!
hey brother, how do you run your drives?
it is:
1. kilt into KOT
2. KOT into kilt
hey man, I am running them without stacking. Each one is being ran by itself in isolation just with each one set at higher gain. KOT yellow is my lowest setting, then KOT red is medium, then Kilt is higher gain, then red Kilt is highest gain.
Awesome Video! Is the KOT the normal gain setup or did you get the high gain mod on one or both of the channels?
@@robinhood639 hey thanks for watching! The gain settings are stock, I did not get the high gain mods.
@@lightfootfx Awesome! Enjoy!
Which model are those monitors?
Yamaha HS7
if you can only afford 2 pedals from that board, which ones would you take?
I would take 1 Tonex and then the strymon elcap since it can do delay and reverb technically. Then I would set the Tonex to be really driven and use my guitar volume knob to adjust the amount of drive 😂
Great video!
Hey thanks so much! I love your products! Couldn’t make it this easy without the PBC/6x
What tone factor captures are you using?
Hey, just the basic amp capture with the “driven” profile for both the ac30 and fender prosonic then set drive to taste.
Pretty sure you just convinced me of the Elliott 357. I’ve been going back and forth on a guitar upgrade. Stuck on a Novo and the 357. I’ve heard they’re noisy but that tone is perfect. I feel like it contains the sound I’m hearing in my head and constantly chasing. Would love to know your thoughts and opinion on it. Excellent video brother!
Hey thanks so much for watching! I love the 357 it is as noisy as any other single coil guitar like a tele. It plays amazing and has so much sustain. I have never played a novo but I really want to so I am not sure how it compares. I bet you would be very happy with the elliott though because everyone who tries mine loves it and its an instant reaction.
Awesome. Thanks for the response bro. Well, hopefully I can get my hands on one to try and see for myself because from what I’m hearing it’s pretty much dead on what I’m hearing in my head. I’ll probably be asking more questions later🤣
Love the channel brother🔥
Try out the greer sure shot smaller than the benson boost and can sound just like it plus more
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll check it out
Do you use the straight capture or do you disengage the cab portion and add their new XR IR’s? Sounds killer man!!
Hey thanks so much! I am just using the straight capture no IR's or anything. The only thing I do is tweak the eq and gain to taste.
Thanks for the vid! What monitors are you using to dial in your tone?
thanks for watching! I am using the yamaha HS7 studio monitors
If you want some great different modulation get a Unicorn V2 by JHS to go with your other one there :) It has the vibrato you like too.
Thanks for the recommendation, I will check that out
I have the exactly sale king of tone , but I see you have the switch set to idle that means the right side of the pedal is still on the boost , its just different settings from the right /. set the switch down to have it as OD if you wish
I actually have the switch bypassed, I ended up just switching it via the internal switches.
great guitar! mine it will be finish soon ! how much did you waited for your order? this is my favourite from Elliot but my order is the Warhawk
It’s a killer guitar! It took about 3 years
All sounds real good!! Curious what is your global input trim set to on the Tonex pedals?
Thanks! My input trim is set to 0, it was on 8 and I went back and forth and decided to land on 0 then I turn the gain up as desired.
2 tonex?
ToneX or Ruby? Why that choice :)
I prefer Tonex just because I can pick the AC30 I want to use instead of being stuck with just the one ac30 that the ruby is. I like the EQ settings of the Tonex more as well for fine control.
Hallo brother iam from Indonesian....i love your guitar n your gear..i Kwon have
Hey man thanks for watching!
That thing looks like it controls the launch sequence for space shuttle rockets.
😂 It absolutely does
Cloudburst or bigsky?
I would say if you’re fine with one really good reverb and using it for all your sounds then go cloudburst, otherwise go big sky if you need all the other reverb algorithms.
@@lightfootfx couldburst without midi is bad right? Only 1 switch
@@anotherone9219 yeah you are correct, it would be difficult to use without some sort of midi controller.
Awesome board! I just uploaded a video of my pedalboard and tagged you, hope you don't mind
Thanks! Not at all man I’ll go check it out!
Such a huge pedalboard and no big sky?
The big sky is overkill for me 😅 I just want something that takes up small space and sounds good so I can have room for other stuff.
Weeoo weeoo weeoo weeoo 😅

Really cool board, love the sounds. Video though cuts too quickly from the board back to you too often. It's disorienting and aggravating. Need more long focused shots of board.
Thanks for watching, I’ll keep that in mind
Enjoyed your video. But it's trim-o-low. Not trow-molow. Trim-o-low.
Thanks for watching!
Fun video, but TREmolo, not treMOlo! :p
Ha I didn’t realize I was saying it that way.

I also have a fractal Fm9, I’m enjoying the pedals more, I feel more inspired when I have knobs and real pedals to interact with. The fractal does sound great though!
Same here! I have the Fract AX8 and my backup pedalboard is in the works with Tonex as an AU plugin on the iPhone. Yeah the pedals do have a different feel for sure! Great tone brother!
Please stop looking at the camera when you hit a chord. Its a little strange. Cool board though 👍
